Despite the Cliché, a Good Adventure
claudio_carvalho28 November 2016
The SG-1 is forced to team up with a Russian team to explore the tomb of a ziggurat where a Russian unofficial expedition disappeared. The animosity between Colonel Jack and Colonel Zukhov begins at the SGC and their friction lasts along their assignment. When the teams successfully enter the ziggurat, they discover the members of the previous Russian expedition dead. Soon they discover that the Russian team released a creature with a symbiote from the sarcophagus where it was trapped. The worst, Colonel Zukhov accidentally activates a device that locks the exit of the ziggurat and they are trapped inside. How will leave the tomb?

Despite the cliché of Russian and American rivalry and lack of cooperation, "The Tomb" is a good adventure of "Stargate SG-1". The story is full of action and well resolved in the end. My vote is eight.

One minor nitpick (or potentially not so minor)
slackersmom31 August 2019
One thing strikes me every time I watch this episode, and it occurs near the beginning. There are two 4-person teams, one from the US, one from Russia. Daniel manages to open the ziggurat door, and guess what? All eight people go inside. Has SG1 not learned ANYTHING from their various missions? You don't go into a strange building without having an exit strategy. They should have left one person on the outside, with the code to open the door, in case anything happens. (I bet those Russians wished they'd done that... right before they were past wishing for anything.) After all, what good is knowing how to gate back to your home planet if you can't get out of the building you went to visit?

The Eye of Tiamat is the target for grant scientific alien knowledge!!
elo-equipamentos1 May 2023
Sadly the forcible cooperation under political influence on USA-Russia even in savor faire on scientific assignment on the top secret Stargate programme wasn't welcome by Colonel Jack O'Neil to share information about the alien tech hidden so long over Russia awareness for so obvious reasons, even so the cooperativeness already was approved by political high spheres.

The summarized task entails sending to Stargate portal both teams to planet P2X-338 where the Russians still had there and lost the crew trapped in a sort of pyramidal Tomb of Ziggurat aiming for to set free the Russian crew, the arrival is safe, although Dr. Daniel tries find out the unlock the old door on dead language, the wise Daniel got open the door, inside they find a dead corpse of the soldiers somewhat eaten by some unknown being, thus they split to make a sweeping on the narrow labyrinths, the Colonel Zukhov locate a tomb chamber of the evil King Marduk buried alive with a Goa'uld that no long was there.

The dubious Col. Zukhov finds another Russian corpse of the leader of the assignment with a log with him and an odd device, he holds such piece a Goa'uld self-called Eye of Tiamat with him, keeping his secret far away from Col. Jack O'Neil notice, in the meantime the gorgeous Russian Lt. Tolinev is bitten by a strange bug that disappears from sight, later they find a dead bug, but no signal of Symbiote that find out another host to keeping alive, nonetheless Teal'c has a device to recognize such being in someone.

Fine episode exposing that such joint venture between so conflict-ridden enemies is doomed to failure, moreover the experience itself wasn't fruitful scientifically speaking, therefore the polite Major Hammond openly leaves in the air an upcoming cooperation with Russians.

Thanks for reading.

Deloise Ruins Another Episode
Easygoer101 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Simply because SG1 is with the Russians on a mission, they are shown as evil, of course. It's outrageous to me and millions of other Americans whose families emigrated to America from Russia. There are 2 constants on this show: God and America are first; always. It gets old after some time, particularly when Peter Deloise is directing. There are far better directors than him associated with SG1: Martin Wood, and Amanda Tapping (who plays "Samantha Carter"). Anyway, it turns into an expected result. Watch the first and last 5 minutes, then skip on to the next one.

Always with the big bugs

Good effects and an interesting storyline, though the Russian thing has been done, this is at least a good attempt at a hot take. Decent acting and effects. Always with the really big bugs.

so funny

Interesting, why, mostly, Russians are destroyers and so stupid in US movies? Just very funny to see this.. really. I love StarGate TV show. Actually, this is one TV show I like. But I want to say about this part (5-8). So many errors with showing of Russian nature, culture and mentality. Russian soldiers never could drop other soldiers and any people in hard situations. And not soldiers only, all Russian are very friendly. I am talking about simple people, not about politics, which are the same everywhere in the world. Also, many errors with showing Russian clothes, especially soldier's uniform. In this part showed uniform of 1940-1950'. But, hope to see new parts of StarGate, because this is a good idea of TVshow:)
