The Return of the Destroyer of Worlds
claudio_carvalho22 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
The SG-1 visits the planet Vyus and discovers that there are neither children nor elders in the society that has collective amnesia after the mysterious Volix. Jack, Sam, Daniel and Teal'c are introduced to Ke'ra, who is the local leader and scientist that has an immediate crush on Daniel. She explains that the Volix was the result of a research with the pesticide Dargol carried out by a scientist called Linea that was visiting their planet. She also gives Linea's diary to the team and they realize that she is the Destroyer of Worlds (see S02E03 - "Prisoners"). The SG-1 feels responsible for the situation in Vyus and Jack summons Dr. Janet Fraiser to help the inhabitants. She explains that the progress would be faster at the SGC and Ke'ra, Orner and Layale volunteer to go as guinea pigs. Soon Dr. Fraiser finds that Ke'ra has Linea's DNA and the Volix was caused by her research of the fountain of youth using Dargol and the amnesia is a side effect to the experiment. The problem is that Fraiser and Sam conclude that they need the knowledge of Ke'ra do help them; but can they trust in Ke'ra?

"Past and Present" is an interesting episode of "Stargate SG-1" with the return of Linea, The Destroyer of Worlds, who lured the SG-1 to escape from the prison in an isolated planet. Daniel creates a dilemma with the comparison of Linea-Ke'ra with Teal'c and believes in a second chance in life for a former criminal. However it is a totally different situation since Teal'c changed his behavior by himself. What if Ke'ra recalls who she was? In addition, since the society is not fertile, the Vyus population is doomed to end. My vote is seven.

Well this gets a few stars for some subtle and yet awesome plot twists. Decent acting and storyline resolution. That wig on Kera though, whew, not good.

Warning: Spoilers
They make a cure for the amnesia the people are suffering but yet Kera gets sent back and she has no memory and she's going to just accept that when everybody else on the planet gets theirs back? Not believable. Also what is up with her wearing that fake wig?
