Good episode
fig-7527520 August 2020
I thought this episode was good. I didn't really agree with the other reviewers.

If you've watched SG-1 up to this point, you will know that the "good Jaffa" are the greatest warriors in the universe, and the "bad Jaffa" are completely useless and will all get killed very easily. It's ridiculous, but I've learned to ignore it and just enjoy the action.

I couldn't ignore the fact that Daniel and Sam managed to somehow transport up to the mothership though. That part really didn't make sense, how did they get access to the ring teleporter to get up there? Was the teleporter just left unguarded? Or maybe there were just a couple of guards. Who knows?

Those of you that have seen Dredd will know there is a scene in which it looks like Dredd is about to be killed. There is a similar scene in this episode of SG-1, with Teal'c in place of Dredd. I was a little disappointed that it didn't play out in the same way!

Overall though, this episode was another good one, IMO.

Forgettable Episode
claudio_carvalho27 November 2017
While fleeing from a group of Jaffa, The SG-1 crosses the Stargate but Teal'c is shot by a Jaffa. He has a long and painful recovery with Tritonin and feels weak when Dr. Janet Fraiser discharges him to perform his duties. Meanwhile Danel has the sensation that he forgot something important and becomes obsessed to recall. He also overhears voices and asks Teal'c to teach him to meditate. Out of the blue, Daniel learns that Rya'c and Bra'tac have been captured by the Ba'al Jaffa and are working as slaves in the Planet Erebus. What will the SGC do?

"Orpheus" is another forgettable episode of "Stagate SG-1" with another fight between Earthlings and Jaffa. Teal'c losing his "mojo" is silly and there is nothing special in this how. My vote is seven.

Get your Mojo back

A decent episode in terms of both the storyline and character development. The cast had good chemistry. Both the effects and costuming felt authentic.

I upset with Jack

Warning: Spoilers
I'm upset with Jack in this episode. He had a sniper rifle and later proved to be a pretty good shot b. He could have take out the head Jaffa at any time but didn't. Why not?

Big plot hole to make a 5 minute mission into an episode
gergle-16 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Through Daniel's slowly recovering memory, we learn Bratac and Rayak are amongst a group of Rebel Jaffa being worked to death at a shipyard.

Daniel pieces together the gate address, and the team discovers the code to lower a barrier on the destination gate.

Major rescue mission, many Jaffa eager to fight for freedom, let's send a large force. Multiple Special ops snipers (staffs have limited range, yes?), troops lined up in the hallways to rush through the gate, right?

Nope, we send maybe 4 SG teams. A lot of covert sneaking ensues, Jack passes up several opportunities to snipe the camp commander, Teal'c gets captured and tortured...

In the end, Sam and Daniel (magically teleport? Beats heck out me how they got on the ship that's being constructed) and C4 the antigravity. The ship crashes, half the guards rush over to it so they get crushed maybe? Maybe they thought they would catch a falling mothership? Who knows, the slaves basically free themselves and we go home.

typical Jack style

How'd this thing last over ten season? Amazing. Nothing else going on I guess in late 90's. Star Wars... which they copied immensely. No fan carried of course.

And this... sits for 24 hours looking through a scope. Let's Teal'c get captured. Punished. Now another lability to get out. but then, guess ran out of one-liners and beer, so started shooting. Used cohort of prisoners, who took upon themselves. Job done.

Another one to fastfwd.
