Most underrated episode of the season
Ropiel22 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
When i started this show that's what i signed for, exploration of new planets, new vegetation and different alien lifeforms and that episode really filled that need

It was beautiful especially towards the end while making the show a bit more realistic tackling the way the SGS could harm planets they explore without even knowing how or why.

One of the Weakest Episodes of This Series
claudio_carvalho13 October 2015
Sam is testing an Unmaned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and the drone crashes on a planet. When its camera shows an alien near the UAV, the SG-1 travels to the planet to retrieve the drone. On the arrival, they establish contact with a weird inhabitant and follow him to his village. Soon several inhabitants faint and the SG-1 believe they have brought some pandemic to the natives. They bring one native to the SGC and Dr. Fraiser tries to find a cure. Will the inhabitants be doomed to die?

"One False Step" is one of the weakest episodes of "Stargate SG-1". The forgettable story is annoying and silly and is totally different from the other episodes. My vote is six.

Meddling

Once again SG1 jumps in all savior like and ends up being the problem in the first place. An interesting resolution but on the whole a filler episode with no character development.

Creative, imaginative

Warning: Spoilers
May contain *** SPOILERS***

This is a very creative and imaginative stand alone episode that gives us a breather from the rest of the story line. A breath of fresh air where science, archeology, evolution, and medicine are creatively intertwined. Episodes in science fiction do not necessarily have to have guns and shooting and lasers. This is simple creativity where the travelers arrive in a planet with human like inhabitants who start to get sick the moment jack and co arrive. They appear peaceful but are unable to communicate or speak to one another in words. One by one they seem to collapse but peacefully touch each other and have a sad look on their face. They don't get aggressive and allow Daniel to communicate with them and help them.

I won't give he episode away but the interaction between the SG1 team and the natural beings of this planet is great to watch. The apprehension.. subtle suspense and conclusion is soothing to tune it and follow. Not your classic Stargate episode but I thoroughly enjoyed it and give it a high score.

One of the best episodes
bamboowho12 May 2019
This episode demonstrates extremely well the first-world habit of thinking cultures unlike one's own are primitive or strange and negatively affecting those cultures and leaving them worse than they found them. The actors playing the aliens are expressive without words, and the "music" is beautiful.

Fun story. Weirdly stilted dialog and acting.
imdb-428822 November 2019
It's a good enough story - hobbled by absurdly awkward dialogue, amateurish direction, and therefore equally poor acting. That is to say, not even the best acting could have saved this episode.

Nice Episode, but bad customes
plutoniumdg2 January 2021
I really like this standalone episode. I missed those standalone episodes at the last few seasons and enjoy watching episodes again and again like that. The story is unique an innovative. The only critique I have is the costumes. At multiple occasions the costumes are clearly visible.

embarrassingly bad

Warning: Spoilers
do not read if you have not seen season 1 yet

I'm just happy I watched this alone, to see this in company with others would have been to embarrassing.

must have been some new age script writer who wrote this script while high on mushrooms.

Writing, acting and effects were awful and did they hire the blue man group as actors?

among with greys (lazy alien design or just naive writers) being in the series this is one of the embarrassing things about a series that is excellent in most other ways.

Highly unique episode

I love this episode so much. They encounter some strange and funny peeps who are kinda naked and strange looking. Suddenly they start dropping sick and nobody knows whats up. The cause really surprised me, as well as the logic of the story and the clues to resolve it. There are some funny moments as well as some curious ones. Not a lot of fighting or running in this one, but definitely worth the watch.
