The King and the Prophecies
claudio_carvalho11 October 2018
When the Tok´ras warn the SGC that the Goa´uld will arrive at the planet where Harry Maybourne is exiled, Sam, Daniel and Teal´c travel to bring him back. However they discover that Maybourne is the king of a primitive civilization. He explains that he found a temple with prophecies written on the walls by the Ancients and people have chosen him as their king. Further, he knew that the Goa'uld would come but the prophecies say that they will be saved by the SG-1.

"It's Good to Be King" is a funny episode of "Stargate SG-1". Tom McBeath is wonderful performing the cynical Harry Maybourne and there are excellent scenes and line with hi controversial character. My vote is eight.

Harry's Circle is Complete
fcabanski22 September 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This is a nice episode. It receives a 7 because it completes Harry Maybourne's redemption, and it has a fair bit of action and discovery.

SG1 goes to retrieve Harry Maybourne, because a Goa'uld is going to the planet where the Tokr'a placed Harry. It turns out Harry has become king thanks to some ruins. He found that the ruins contain prophecies written by an Ancient who had traveled in time.

There's also a prophecy about some travelers - Harry figures it's SG-1 - saving the people from a returned enemy.

This episode is about faith and redemption. Just as the people at SGC showed their faith in Jack a few episodes back, the people who made Harry king show their faith in him.

In the end they defeat the Goa'uld and find the Ancient's gate ship, complete with a time traveling module.

King Arkhan and the square table

A well developed storyline and the return of the king... oh I mean, the return of a great character. The effects and costuming worked really well, the storyline flowed easily.

Bad to worse is right...
rcsipe26 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The actions or inactions of the characters on the show have become so unbelievably irrational and illogical that it's impossible to watch. The previous episode was equally absurd. Daniel and Teal'c...stood around amongst those people until they were disrobed and found to be from Earth!? WTF would you do that? I'm afraid I'm going to have to take the advice of another reviewer and go to SG Atlantis. The other perceptive reviewer has noticed the same thing in these last two episodes. This show got REALLY bad and it was all of the sudden. I can watch fantasy and I know that physics and reality are being challenged on the show, but to have the characters doing completely ridiculous things or just standing around when any sane person would take action of some sort...constantly... is unwatchable. I know I'm years late to the show but I've watched every season up until this point over the last 6 months, and it wasn't all great but it was really good most of the time and it just got pathetic.
