When the SG-1 returns from a mission, the team learns that there is a chemical leak on the sixteenth floor of the SGC and they need to go to the infirmary. Dr. Fraiser injects a drug and the group faints; however Teal'c recovers soon because of his symbiont and he sees aliens that have taken over the SGC and assumed their appearance. Teal'c rescues Sam and helps her to flee from the base, but he is captured again. Sam contacts Colonel Harry Maybourne and she schedules a meeting with him in café in a public space. However he contacts General Hammond and Jack and Daniel also come to the encounter. They explain to Sam that the chemical provokes hallucinations and visions and she needs to urgently return to the SGC to be cured since she is paranoid. Who is telling the truth?
"Foothold" is one of the best episodes of "Stargate SG-1" with a story of alien invasion that uses the SGC as foothold for their invasion. The plot is a tribute to the 1956 "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" with the SGC staff being replaced by aliens using electronic device on the chest. The funniest line is when Sam tells "Maybourne, you are an idiot every day of the week. Why couldn't you have just taken one day off?" In addition, the plot is also well resolved. My vote is nine.
Title (Brazil): "Foorhold"
