Conspiracy on Earth
claudio_carvalho23 December 2016
In Russia, a military truck transporting soldiers is attacked by mercenaries posing as soldiers that kill them all. In USA, Sam is kidnapped in a parking area by men wearing ninja masks and vanishes. Although not having jurisdiction in the city, the SG-1 investigates her abduction. They suspect NID of the kidnapping and Jack contacts Maybourne. He gives a code to Jack with the responsible and Daniel identifies Colonel Frank Simmons. When Jack visits Simmons, he denies and accuses Maybourne that would have received three million dollars from the Zeditron Industries owned by the millionaire Adrian Conrad. Jack surprises Maybourne at the garage of Zeditron Head Quarter and he discloses that he had got a Goa'uld symbiote from Russia to Conrad. Soon they learn that Conrad is terminal and bought the symbiote to save his life. Further, he abducted Sam to learn how to remove the symbiote without killing the host. Will the SG-1 rescue Sam before any damage?

"Desperate Measures" is an episode of "Stargate SG-1" with a conspiracy on Earth. The show is full of action, but better off when the story takes place in the outer space. The evil Colonel Frank Simmons will certainly be the grey eminence of the series. My vote is eight.

Ironic Episode

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is more like political intrigue. I like it, as John de Lancie costars. He and Richard Dean Anderson are close friends in real life. Speaking if which, this aired 4 days before 9/11. Now that was REAL horror and intrigue. Having lived and worked in Lower Manhattan long before, (especially) during and after this day, watching everything up close from the roof of my office. It put TV, films, etc. in perspective for the entire world. Apologies for digression, but it is a unique and tragic coincidence one can never forget. Overall, this is well worth the watch.

Weak concept for an episode, mainly targeted at setting up the new series government baddie. Story moved slowly and there was a definite lack of effects.
