Honor and Friendship
claudio_carvalho27 May 2015
Jack, Sam, Daniel and Teal'c travel to a planet with an amicable people that are afraid of Apophis and his Jaffas. They befriend the population but Teal'c is recognized by the villager Hanno as the Jaffa that killed his father when he was a boy. Teal'c is arrested and submitted to the Cor-ai, a trial where only Hanno can forgive him. While Daniel tries to defend him explaining that he changed for the good, Jack and Sam unsuccessfully try to convince General Hammond to send a rescue team to save him. Will Teal'c be saved by his friends?

"Cor-ai" is an interesting episode of "Stargate" with the discussion of whether a soldier following orders is responsible or not for his acts. The theme honor and friendship is well used and the conclusion is not corny. My vote is eight.

What is justice?
Calicodreamin14 January 2022
A really enjoyable episode as the weights of justice are measured and each side of a case is morally argued. Decent acting and the cast had good chemistry.

Guilty

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is significant as it finally deals with Tealc's past and all the things he now has to account for. It also asks a few valid questions about the moral responsibility of soldiers, about justice and redemption. And we get to know Teal'c better --he is usually so undecipherable.

Still, I don't much like this episode. Necessary though it is to the character's development, the whole trial thing bores me no end, as do O'Neill's repeated attempts at convincing him not to go along with the trial. And while I am happy to see that Teal'c's murder of the invalid was actually the best possible solution to an impossible quandary, I regret that after this his guilt suddenly vanishes and is never mentioned again.

It is all about justice system

Warning: Spoilers
It is all about justice system

If guilty person regrets the guilt, allowed to be free? This is about it. Courts, laws, countries maybe can change but always justice system will make mistakes because punishments are open to discuss.

So , in this episode, it was only a nonsense part, when Goa'uld came to the planet. After that, teal'c did what he had to do as a good warrior. And that is why, he was forgiven. If goa uld did not come, so teal'c could be killed but maybe daniel, carter and jack could attack them to rescue him.

I was thinking stargate was in canada , not usa but in this episode they said usa. So why do they sometimes talk about toronto?

It was also good to see how teal's is full of pain. He regrets every crime he did.

the past of Teal'c

Warning: Spoilers
Teal'c in the main role here with an underlaying message about soldiers given the order to execute or kill some victims. I didn't had a problem with this episode because it's not all about justice.

We do go back in time about the past of Teal'c when he was a real Jaffa and had to execute people for the Gaou'ld. On the planet were SG-1 arrives one of it's people recognize Teal'c as the executioner of his dad and Teal'c is sentenced to death. He agrees to be executed but not for Colonel jack. He wants Teal'c alive and bring him back save to earth.

Typical SG-1, Teal'c also help the people on the planet against an attack of Gauo'ld. By doing so he has shown that he no longer is in command by Apophis. Will he go free or be sentenced to death?

It do has a few good moments because we go again into the past of Teal'c. A simple story, nothing more nothing less without any effects.
