Vietnam Flashbacks
Samuel-Shovel22 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In "The Fatigues", Jerry is dating a woman with a mentor whose dating Bania. George must read a book on risk management for a presentation but can't find it on tape. Kramer volunteers to cook for a Jewish singles night but asks for help from George's dad, a cook during the Vietnam war. Elaine tries to fire the mail person at her office but promotes him because he intimidates her.

Love it anytime Frank Costanza shows up! Beyond this though, this episode is fairly average. No memorable moments or quotable lines really come to mind even though I just watched it.

A Step Down
Hitchcoc17 March 2023
After the three previous episodes, this one isn't up to those. We have Elaine with no backbone being intimidated by a guy from the mailroom. He comes across as genuinely psychotic. She is so scared of him that she promotes him, causing her entire staff to leave. George gets into the mentor business when Jerry breaks up this girl and her mentor. George moves in for the scraps and screws it all up. We meet that awful comedian again who is having a relationship with one of the women. George, meanwhile, has to make a presentation at Yankee Stadium but has no idea what the topic means. Anyway, the conclusion is not too bad.

Frank's back story
safenoe25 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Steve Hytner makes a welcome return as Kenny Bania, and it's quite hilarious when I think about how he demanded a free dinner from Jerry a few seasons back. Anyway, Frank Costanza reveals his backstory as a cook in the Korean War (although some reviewers think it's the Vietnam War but they were different just in case anyone is wondering I guess). Also, Elaine's promotion of a military-fatigued guy is quite hilarious and uncomfortable all at once. Anyway, The Fatigues debuted nearly 30 years ago, and I'm enjoying re-watching Seinfeld after having first watched it when it debuted in the 1990s init.

I think George has to give a talk in something but he doesn't really know much about it anyway

The mentor & Bania plot is good. The fatigues-guy plot is better.

Everything else in this one is total a-s-s. I suppose it could have been worse if there were ore Newman & more George.

Elaine. Her stories are hash.
ThunderKing612 March 2023
Hello.

This review was made on daylight savings time on March 12th of the year that is 2023rd.

What is this episode about?: Elaine has a hash storyline where she deals with a bloke and promotes him because she's Elaine.

George has to read a book and can't.

Kramer organizes a dating event for khazar for singles.

Jerry mentors Bania to be the best. The best.

Story and production: overall nothing much going on here. It's so hash. The only story with some interest is Jerry mentoring Bania and Frank's flash back story.

An overall weak hash and rusty episode.

Highlight: Frank's story. And Jerry's girl was a beaut.

Villian: Elaine for being a horrible President. Haha just like in Veep. Imagine in Thunderbolts.

Girlfriend attractiveness level: 10 Jerry's girl was a beaut... I'd love to mentor her or have her mentor me in risk management. Bet she has some good ovaltine.

What can be learned?: don't be lazy like George and dense like Elaine.

Verdict: A hash episode.
