In this rather unusual episode, there's some good banter between Bodie and Doyle along the way - and some pathos too, as Doyle is ordered by a no-nonsense Cowley to break the awful news of a CI5 colleague's sudden 'death in the call of duty' to his distraught widowed spouse in a fairly harrowing scene.
Sarah Neville puts in a perfect and believable performance as the hardened terrorist leader Ulrike - and look out for a young Michael Praed as one of her less-talkative gang members.
All in all, it's a well-paced episode - the pretend courtroom scene among the gang to serve justice to a member who's betrayed them is memorable and pretty grim.
It delivers a clever final act - although the ending is a little abrupt and sombre, reflecting perhaps the overall feel of this story where it seems there are to be no winners.
