a touching, funny, thought-provoking David E. Kelly family story woven from current news and topics of interest,
cellolyon9 November 2013
This is another of the great successes by David E. Kelly with humor, brains, a wise judge, a clever and humorous lawyer, the doctor-wife, the sheriff-husband, and children from two marriages. The actors are always believable, and the story line carries through the ages of the children, teenagers, and adults, creating a series of stories within each episode. I always enjoy the dilemmas that the judge must handle, and the real-life dramas of the various couples. This series provokes the observer with emotions that run the gambit, but almost always leave a subject ready for discussion because of moral values that are challenged. I really enjoyed the series, and the actors Ray Walston, Fyvush Finkel, and Tom Skerritt. Perhaps we will all be lucky enough SOON to see this series returned to the public. Please!

A Solid Ending
Hitchcoc24 May 2022
In this concluding episode, the writers did a good job. It begins with a transient, killed by a brick to the head, left in a pool of blood. At the same time Jimmy Brock awaits the results of a biopsy to indicate whether he has liver cancer. So the investigation goes on with this on his shoulders. A young man comes in and gives an eyewitness account of the killing. But there are holes in the story. The emotions are really realistic this time. This show is often over the top, but this final episode is the cherry on top. There's more to it than this, but it was satisfying conclusion. I watched this series when it first aired and it has been great fun to watch it again.
