James 'Grizzly" Adams(Dan Haggerty) and Mad Jack(Denver Pyle) come to the aid of two orphaned children who have runaway from their settlement orphanage because there were too many rules, and they want to explore nature and meet animals. At first, they like living with Adams, but after awhile become bored and decide to explore the forest on their own, which leads to trouble, as the book they use for reference is none too accurate... Meanwhile, Nakoma(Don Shanks) brings in orphanage director Mr. Watts(played by James Griffith) who is determined to bring the children back, but not before all three of them learn an important lesson... Fine episode has good lessons to teach along with the expected entertainment to be found.
