An enjoyable, fairly typical Dept. S episode

As with most Dept. S. shows, this one has a good opening, with a plot that has some loose points as the story develops. Here, our Dept. S. trio heads to the scenic Costa del Sol of Spain for an investigation. One of the better things about this episode is that you get a nice, outdoors feeling of Spain, partly through the good use of stock shots.

This episode was similar in plot and tone to the kind of story one might have seen on The Saint with Roger Moore. Not surprising, since The Saint was such as big hit in the 1960's. In this episode we get some of the characteristic, fun banter among the three leads, which is perhaps the most enjoyable aspect of the whole series. Jason does not get as many witty zingers here as in some other episodes. We do get some good shots of Jason's wonderful Bentley driving along the roads. Stewart and Annabelle are likable, as usual. Watching this episode is like visiting some pleasant friends. No big surprises, but you enjoy the company.
