A private education for Daria?
Tweekums30 November 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Two pupils from Lawndale High, Daria and Jodie, are invited to attend an open day at a prestigious private school from where they can expect to go on to top universities and high powered jobs; if they don't burn out. When they arrive it soon becomes apparent to Daria that its pupils are just as shallow as those at Lawndale; they are just shallow about different things. While the girls are getting to meet the students there Daria's parents chat with Jodie's; in their own way they are just as peculiar as the Morgendorffers; her father is only interested in his son and her mother has a massive chip on her shoulder thinking every comment Helen makes must be based on her race. While the rest of her family is away Quinn is meant to be staying with Sandi but she falls out with one member of the fashion club after another and is forced to seek shelter with somebody quite unexpected: Jane Lane.

This was a pretty funny episode; I liked the fact that Daria had just as much disdain for the 'intelligent' shallow types at the private school as she does for the idiots at Lawndale and the way Trent only referred to Quinn as 'Daria's Sister' was hilarious. The conversations between Helen and Jodie's mother were as funny as they were awkward; neither of them came across well! Once again a good episode; this season hasn't had a dud yet.

Daria and Jodie get to meet a whole new class of jerks!
planktonrules6 March 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Daria and Jodie are both invited to an open house at a prestigious prep school. It's a great opportunity but you wonder if either girl would fit in there. Plus, you wonder how accepting such a school would be. But, unfortunately, the kids at this school turn out to be just as shallow as those at Lawndale--just in a totally different way. Also, the biggest problem with this visit occurs when Helen meets Jodie's mother, Michele--a very defensive lady who always seems to take offense at everything Helen says. Plus, Helen does say a few dumb things--so the sparks sure begin to fly. It sure is fun watching Michele get mad and Helen trying to back out of a painful conversation again and again! In a cute side story, Quinn finds that staying with each of the Fashion Club members during this time is impossible and where she finally ends up is pretty ironic!

All in all, a cute episode and one worth seeing. By the way, I loved the part where Jake was sleeping with a slide show--only to wake up and yell out "Hey....my old alma mater!". See it to understand more.....
