Working office girls
searchanddestroy-19 June 2016
That's mainly a story for women and especially housewives, as far as that's a TV episode and not a motion picture. It takes place in an office where the lead character is a switchboard girl who has problems with her fiancé and let this issue interfere with her job. But her female manager is not far. One more time, you have understood that's a tale made for family, home family audiences, a story in which most of those same audiences could recognize themselves with their own domestic and social, if not relation, problems. Bob Miller made it and if you watch closely to his career, you'll notice that this director was easy with such close to reality dramas. Look for instance his ROUTE 66 episodes. This episode is not bleak nor gloomy at all. In summary, for the whole family around the dinner table, and certainly not the "kitchen sink" kind, as the UK film industry was son fond of in the late fifties and early sixties. Far far more dramatic features and not so cheesy as those American ones.
