Amazing that Jim Bowie lived to fight at the Alamo as in this series he seems to get cracked over the head in every other episode. And it happens here as Bowie is trying to track down Three- Finger Jacques who is in league with the local doctor to hijack a supply of smallpox vaccine. Dr. Fry is mesmerized by his material-girl wife who needs more and more pretty things. She convinces her husband they he (she) can make a fortune by selling inoculations at a staggering price to the panicked residents of New Orleans. Jim saves the day but the medical establishment is shocked that one of their own would put profit over patient safety. Have times changed? No need to worry, Bowie saves the day and Dr. Fry and his wife are captured. Too bad for Fry as he goes off to prison but she only gets deported to France. And Bowie, forced to be vaccinated, the hero faints dead away.
