The set of the comedy Three's Company (1976) was recreated down to the last detail for Episode #1.16 "Come and Knock on Our Door".
John Ritter contacted Suzanne Somers and Joyce DeWitt about reprising their Three's Company (1976) roles. Somers had not spoken to Ritter or DeWitt since she was fired from their show. Somers felt that the three of them needed to sort out their personal issues before working together so she turned it down. DeWitt turned it down because she did not like the script.
Don Knotts would be the final former Three's Company (1976) co-star that John Ritter has worked with.
Don Knotts reprised his role as Mr. Furley in a cameo appearance and would also use the catchphrase of his character Barney Fife from The Andy Griffith Show (1960), "Nip it in the bud".
