Final paintings, final books, and final films are often read into because of their terminating chronology. Did the artist know they were close to death? How is that shown in the art? When he died in 1968, Carl Dreyer had many projects lined up, including Medea and Jesus of Nazareth, which he had been preparing and researching for years, to the point of learning Hebrew. His last films, Ordet in 1955 and Gertrud in 1964, embody the exacting visual style he forged during his fifty-five-year career—a style he explicated in short essays written ten and twenty years before Gertrud. Being a director who worked with and without sound, we should trust Dreyer when he says film “first and foremost directs itself to the eye, and that the picture far, far more easily than the spoken word penetrates deeply into a spectator’s consciousness.”1 Gerturd is as much about the eponymous character's face...

We've posted the new Red Band teaser Trailer for the upcoming psycho-horror film Song of the Shattered and today we have the first images from the film and some are a little graphic, there's your warning!
From the Press Release:
Joe Hollow Films (the upcoming Diary of Death), Zeroinside Films, and Wolfpak Industry Productions are pleased to announce the first Teaser Trailer and images from their upcoming film "Song Of The Shattered".
"A year after killing her murderous husband in self-defense, a young woman finds herself spiraling out of control, mimicking his brutal actions on those closest to her..."
The film tackles a multitude of socially-relevant issues, including domestic violence, sexual abuse, rape, and other potentially controversial topics and places them all under the guise of what is being dubbed a "psychothriller". Much of the film is inspired by true events that an anonymous member of the production team witnessed as a child.

I’ve reviewed a lot of frothing, disease-ridden acts over the last few months. We've had Vampires, Zombies, and now the ranks of the Lycanthropy-infected are ready to take a clawed-ripped chunk out of the Horror Punk scene for themselves. Cleveland's American Werewolves were formed in 1998 by Trevor Moment and the first full line up was ratified in 2003. One of the few Non-Northwest acts signed by the Washington-based Robot Monster records, this band rips and rends with their latest release The Lonely Ones.
The act seems to morph and melt between fifties style Psychobilly croonings and grimy, unkempt, bombastic gutter punk fury. At first lulling you in to calm and serene romantic moment only to burst forth with animalistic lust and anger, the act has an energy about it that sticks in your head. The gritty and melodic guitar riffs hook in with ivory canines and bite down hard. Vocally...
