A three-reel subject employing many of the Universal City's new assortment of animals, including elephants, camels and tigers. Lieut. Clifford falls in love with the Maharajah's favorite nautch girl. He is lured on a hunting trip in the jungle and is rescued from death by the nautch girl after many thrilling experiences. The Hindu characters and setting are fairly well realized in this, although some of the architecture is of improper type. The jungle scenes in the second and third reel furnish most of the interest. Considerable overacting is apparent throughout the film, but the picture is entertaining. - The Moving Picture World, October 11, 1913
