It's not pointless as it may seem
wrathchild-710871 February 2018
It's really surreal humor, absurdist, it's actually making fun of political correctness, sexism, racism and such through juxtaposing. If anyone actually gets salty because of this film, they didn't really get the catch. The budget and production just contribute to the level of absurdity

universal male domination!
ichy3 May 2003
This is a very funny short film about some men from outer space who are traveling trough the universe to secure the male race from the evil female forces. The movie is very low budget, probably ment to be, and is not to be taken very seriously. Havent we all thought lame and prejudice things about the other gender wether we are male or female? Well i think this movie is for you guys who have had bad experiences with the other sex, you will love it, i did :) Also the title "gay niggers from outer space" is simply hilarious and worth the watch just because of it.

I hardly know what to say...
Ironblayde5 February 2005
In the singularly titled "Gayniggers From Outer Space," Cpt. B. Dick and his crew of gay crusaders from the planet Anus, a member in good standing of the Federation of Gay Planets, happen upon a remote and primitive world called Earth, whose surface is inexplicably covered with dangerous "female creatures." Anything at all could be going on down there, perhaps even the dreaded "kissing" our heroes have read about! For the sake of Earth's men, the Gayniggers decide to dispose of the female creatures and show the planet the error of its ways.

This isn't a comedy as you would usually expect to find one; you can't sit down alone and expect to be entertained much by it. This is the sort of thing that you need to get a few friends together for (preferably numbering no female creatures among them), so you can all sit around and laugh at the sheer absurdity of it all: at the pocket-change sets and special effects, at the ship computer's Speak&Spell voice, at the impossible characters, and of course, simply at the fact that someone actually created a film called "Gayniggers From Outer Space." I find that I haven't a clue how to rate this numerically, given how huge a departure it is from more conventional movies, but it's worth seeing at least once if you can find it.

crack cult
brunkja20 July 2022
A funny title and a weird movie made by a fat white guy from LEGOLAND who was on crack. Whatever he was on, I want it. When I watched this my desire to smoke crack increased ten fold.

Some shock value in the title, but little substance
gizmomogwai18 February 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Gayniggers from Outer Space is a short foreign film about black, gay aliens who explore the galaxy until they stumble upon Earth. Being gay, their goal is to have a male-only universe in which all people are gay. Hence, when they discover women or "female creatures" live on Earth, they are at first terrified; eventually they decide to eliminate all women on the planet and liberate the male population.

An offensive title with a racist, homophobic and sexist storyline, albeit probably intended as a satire, give this film some shock value. However, there's little substance underneath. As another reviewer pointed out, there are few jokes besides the characters' names (eg. ArmInAss); I think I laughed once at one small gay joke. I think I got the point of the film quickly, a satire of bad science fiction, but after that I had had enough; I kept wanting the film to end already (and it is a short film!). Not brilliant or particularly well-written.

A Cult Favorite With Very Strange Overtones
gavin69423 February 2008
A group of aliens (who happen to be homosexual and appear to be of African descent) approach earth, horrified to find it populated with not only males but also females. So they devise a plan to land on earth and liberate the men from their female overlords. Numerous sexual and racial jokes ensue.

It is rather difficult to explain this film. The plot really sums it up, but the question is exactly whether or not the film is even good. On one hand, it's mostly notorious because of the name and not so much for the content of the film. So it can be dismissed as just a racist and homophobic movie. But is it racist or homophobic if it glorifies homosexuality and stars black men? And what of some of the more clever, subtle humor and homages? The name itself is a take on "Grave Diggers From Outer Space", the original title of "Plan 9 From Outer Space"... so there's definitely some knowledgeable film historians behind this one.

And what to make of it being foreign (Danish)? Does the intent and humor translate well? I can't say for sure. Which makes this one even more of an enigma.

After three viewings (the film is less than thirty minutes) I am still unclear on the way to take this one, and will likely be unclear for some time. It's funny, if only in an irreverent way. It's quirky. And it's certainly unique. If you can get your hands on a copy, do so. I don't know how to explain why, but I think this is a must-see film for almost everyone.

Huh,.........what,.......?!????!?
planktonrules30 June 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I was recently online looking at a site that featured public domain movies. In their long list of films was this film and I thought I must be hallucinating at such an offensive title and premise. But, no, that's really what it was. And since the film was only about 27 minutes long, I decided to give it a try. If it had turned out to be some porno movie, I would have stopped watching. Instead, it turned out to be the most bizarre film I have ever seen. The Danish production crew tried, with a budget of about $49, to make a Star Trek-style film about a crew of very gay men traveling about the galaxy wiping out female oppression by killing all the women--like they proceeded to do on the Earth! And in every case, they were met with cheers and thanks from the now gay men of the planet.

Subtle, this ain't. With some of the most obscene and juvenile names of characters I've ever heard, I don't even think I can write them on IMDb without having my review removed! However, despite the utter crappiness of it all, it was strangely watchable and worth a peek. Plus, I have to admire any film that just doesn't give a crap who it offends! But, as I mentioned already, due to the crude names and odd subject matter (though no nudity), it's a film for adults only.

By the way, this movie left me with 1001 questions as to WHO would make this, WHY make it and WHO was the intended audience?! It may not be the absolute worst thing I have ever seen, but it probably is the weirdest and possibly the most offensive!

It was funny
xargoglefuraqer20 August 2006
Warning: Spoilers
After years of curiosity, I finally saw this movie fairly recently. It can be found on Google video, for those who are wondering, and the entire movie is only half an hour long. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect before seeing this movie, and what I received was completely different from anything I'd previously imagined.

The movie was definitely funny, but in a very subtle way. Surprisingly enough, it wasn't extremely offensive and didn't have any hardcore gay black action. Regardless, this doesn't stop the movie from being enjoyable. It's actually somewhat hard to explain. I don't want to ruin too much of the movie, but if you've been wondering what this movie is actually about, yes, it is watchable, and you probably won't be very disappointed, but it's not extraordinary either.

Banned from school computers for watching this
bnagahawatte16 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I can't tell if this film is ahead of its time and progressive or just racist and masogynistic.

I often found myself struggling to figure out if this film is good or bad, it was like watching a bipolar junkie.

What I found the film excelled in was making it so that everything was out of focus all throughout the entire film so you couldn't see any of the film which really helped the viewing experience.

In terms of VFX, I can confirm it was there.

The ending of the film was great because It was all just men in a swimming pool eating bananas which I appreciated 👍

3/10 would have been better as a porno.

Actually Pretty Funny
cptchipjew27 April 2004
I thought Gayniggers from Outer Space was quite amusing. Yes, the jokes are somewhat immature, but we all need some of that in our lives from time to time. For those of you with an open mind that don't want to think that much, and are adult enough and lacking the pretentiousness to actually admit you like a movie like this, it really is a lot of fun packed into 25 minutes.

Also, for those who accuse the movie of both homophobia and racism, I would like to point out that 3 of the stars, including Coco P. Dalbert are gay. And of course, everybody is black. Like I said before, if you can be open-minded, this movie is quite enjoyable.

Best Enjoyed On Drugs, Perhaps
jdwayside11 June 2005
Like anyone else who reads Slashdot.org, I've seen the "GNAA" posts on that site promoting this flick about a zillion times over the last two or three years. So, late one bored and sleepless (and sober) Saturday night, I actually fired up my BitTorrent client and downloaded the thing.

It's good for a few chuckles, but not nearly as risqué as I'd been expecting it to be. It's basically a slew of 70s-style clichés (crap special effects, tight white trousers with zippers in the back, big goggly plastic sunnies, snatches of the theme from "Shaft" playing in the background, Ukrainians mining dirt) stacked atop one another. Not sure it qualifies as cult-classic material, but I might actually burn it to a CD and keep it around for a laugh.

I suspect that this film would be considered wildly funny if viewed during the later stages of a drunken party for those of university age, after the lightweights have passed out and been carted home, the neighbours have complained about the music a couple of times, and those looking to hook up have either scored or gone looking elsewhere.

A knowledge of basic spoken German will help, BTW.

I'm pretending that I'm about 21 or 22 years old again, and that I'd had a few when I watched this, and giving it a "7".

An excuse to be misogynistic
kristian-4522 June 2005
This movie was amusing at times, hell sometimes it was even downright funny.

The underlying message I got from the film though, was that women are responsible for all of the troubles of man. Every time a woman is depicted in the film, she is being lazy, being slutty or lambasting some poor guy for no apparent reason. I don't think the message involved is good for women or gay men.

But, it is a comedy, and a piece of art, so it is simply someones point of view. Even if I don't agree with it, they are still entitled to it.

An amusing film, but some of the comments others have made are just plain stupid. Best film ever my foot.

It's about context, people...
booneh6 December 2004
Okay, people come on this site and comment that it is sexist, racist (especially towards Asians) and homophobic. Yes, it is; I won't deny that. But you know what? It's also a comedy. It's a parody of those awful porno films from the 70's (back when they tried to have plots) and also those terrible, xenophobic sci-fi films in the 50's. Some 50's film has similar, racist content and it is called "camp", but some film is made years later parodying that genre by being blatant about it, and it is labeled racist.

At least this movie isn't serious about it's political incorrectness. The whole film is basically a joke, from the horrendous dubbing to the tinfoil set pieces. The budget and quality is no better than a student film. How anyone can get offended is beyond me. Feel free to laugh; it's natural.

This is not Oscar quality material, but I had to smile at a few parts that were just so wrong (like the Asian women being overdubbed with someone just squealing unintelligibly into a microphone). It's good for maybe a chuckle or two, but nothing beyond that.

It's only 25 minutes long and not worth any amount of money to watch. If the title intrigues you, watch it just for curiosity sake. If the title offends you, stay away cause it gets worse and it won't redeem itself.

Doesn't live up to it's premise
MikeyMo_nl9 June 2004
With a movie called "Gayniggers from Outer Space" how could you go wrong? Just throw in some over the top stereotypes for the characters, use the Village People as the main suppliers for the soundtrack, and throw in tons of gay-gags. Plot is unimportant. Too bad, this film doesn't contain any of this and every joke misses the spot. The characters all look alike apart from the german gaynigger, one or two jokes work, the rest fails.

The title made me laugh and I was prepared to laugh even more about the film. My expectation were to high apparently.

A timeless classic.
tanolin12 June 2005
Warning: Spoilers
This film could have been made at any point in history -- but it wasn't until the early 1990s that such a cast and crew found each other and created such a piece. Such a masterpiece. That's what this film turned out to be, against all odds. And that's much how the theme of the movie is. The benevolent protagonists of the film are vastly outnumbered, and against all odds, they turn the planet earth into a place where men can be men. It sounds so simple -- and perhaps it is.

Gayniggers from Outer Space goes against a number of things we've learned. Just like a victim of chronic shock torture can scarcely believe he's not suffering anymore after it's over, the men from this film emerge into an accepting and understanding world -- a world with a memory of where it's been still lingering, no doubt. But the Gayniggers... they leave an ambassador behind to ease the transition into a better life for every man, just as the greatest saint in history would console the most despondent and lost soul. But this film burdens itself not with any theological issues as such, but rather with the utterly existential.

That delivers us to the next point. It is of little doubt that the cast of this film was utterly satisfied with their performance -- the fact that most of them never sought another role attests to this. Indeed, when they all die, they will leave behind a legacy -- a gift, truly, to the future generations. They set an example to us all, merely by being in the film. Most of us will never endow humanity with such a treasure, but it's almost as if they're nudging us and smiling, while saying something like, "It's alright. We took care of some of the heavy lifting for humanity. But we've got your ass -- any time you need us, just remember us. We're there, watching over you."

And so it is. A classic was born.

music rip off
manzano132156 February 2006
Well, what can i say about this movie. I'm speechless. I could go on about how stupid this movie is forever though the one thing that REALLY pi*sed me off was the music. And to top it all off someone commented on how much they LIKED it. To them all I have to say is that it was ripped off from one of the best martial arts movies of all time Fistsof fury starring Bruce Lee. IF he was still alive and ever came across this movie he'd be horrified. the rest of the movie is absolutely ridiculous and a waste of tape. I say tape because a movie like that couldn't possibly have been shot on film.I now feel more stupid for wasting 30 minutes of my life watching it. The only reason why i even saw it was because my roommate downloaded it out of morbid curiosity. What is this world coming to.

We need more of this stupidity
magnetic-rw21 July 2022
This film is stupid, but it's stupidity has a purpose. Namely, that purpose is to mock bigotry, specifically homophobia and racism. I think it does its job quite well, and considering that both of those vile impulses are rearing their heads at this particular moment in history, I think this little flick and more like it are needed. Sometimes having an outlet through which to mock hatred, and bigotry is one of the best ways to fight it. For me, this movie is a good laugh, and some small affirmation that no matter what some hateful folks out in the world may have to say, I'm not d we defective or diseased because of my sexuality.

Not too funny, but not offensive either
Horst_In_Translation28 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This is a 27-minute short film by writer and director Morten Lindberg from almost 25 years ago. It's a Danish film, but don't worry the language is English and here and there a phrase German. It is basically the African American version of the Entreprise as a bunch of homosexual Blacks travel across the universe and do their best to get rid of female oppression. That means females oppressing males. They reach planet Earth and are shocked with what they see. Males and females kissing? What is wrong with these people. They focus on Russia and Germany (including some local stereotypes and music) and help the people fight back against feminazis.

Well.. I have to say the whole premise is so weird. But admittedly, it is also creative. Unfortunately, the gags got old pretty quickly, so this should have run for 10 minutes max. Maybe I'd have given it a 6/10 this way. However, it stops being funny pretty quickly. Still, I applaud the filmmakers for this project. It's a slap in the face of those who keep reminding everybody of political correctness 24/7. And after all, it's okay for black people to say the N word, isn't it? So those gays in this video should totally be allowed doing it. By the way, it's interesting to see how the term gay already stood for homosexuals back in 1991. I remember the old days where it meant nothing but "playful" or "happy". Oh my.. people were so harmless back then. Now the only thing really missing from this short film would have been if the crew were all Jews. Anyway, not a good watch really. Starts to drag pretty quickly, so I can't recommend it, even if the film certainly has its pros, which I stated before.

Best. Title. Ever...
EVOL66617 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
How could you not want to see a film titled GAYN!GGERS FROM OUTER SPACE? I'd like to thank one of my sources for dropping this obscure little film on my doorstep - I may not have heard of it otherwise. A light-hearted and truly funny STAR TREK-ish parody - this one is a fun way to blow (hee-hee) a half-hour...

A group of gay, black, space-travelers (hence the title...) with such colorful names as Captain B. Dick, Sergeant Shaved Balls, and ArmInAss, come across the planet earth and decide to rid the planet of women as a means to free their male "brothers". Their mission takes them to the Ukraine, Bejing, and Hamburg, where they evaporate the female population with ray-guns...

GAYN!GGERS FROM OUTER SPACE is not nearly as offensive or risqué as the title sounds. There's no gay-action in the film, and the whole thing is handled as a very light comedy. Not a masterpiece of film-making by any means - but an obscure and amusing short-film that definitely has the best title of any film ever made. Give this one a look if you get the chance...8/10

Use it as an intro movie.
AT-AT8 October 2006
This movie is not a revolutionary comedy. The humor is in it's plot and it's editing. It is staged to be such an amateur venture as it seems to be, but it has all been done before. Perhaps not the same extend (of the movies I've seen), but it's nothing revolutionary. With that said, its not too bad either. It's nice to see an actual film on the joke title that is 'Gayniggers from outer space'. And the amateur editing and dialogue are spot on. It's not overdone.

But the real strength of this movie lies in its duration. Just shy of 30 minutes this is a perfect appetizer when your having a movie night with friends. Especially if your having a cult night with Rocky Horror show or some such.

One of the most ridiculous movies I have ever seen
vovazhd10 November 2007
Gayniggers from Outer Space is pretty much summed up by its name. Running only 27 minutes long, it describes a spaceship of gay blacks that come to Earth to free the men from women. While I see a little significance to the plot, it also is really illogical. Granted, its meant to be a comedy/spoof on society and science fiction. I found myself laughing several times, so it succeeds there.

The special effects are horrible. When the spaceship is floating above the Earth, you can see stars zoom by for no apparent reason. The asteroids shown in the beginning look fake, the equipment on the ship is illogical, there are several misspellings in the text, the actors are unconvincing, the characters are messed up; in general, the whole thing doesn't take itself seriously. If you get past all the aspects that make it a bad movie, its very accessible and easy to see through to the end. Some parts are hilarious. But overall, the only thing that you are left remembering is that it was one of the most ridiculous concepts ever.

Seeing that its a short film and has some funny aspects, its not the worst thing to see. But its illogical and holds little long-term value. I can't really recommend it; if you do watch it, do so for the unique concept, not the quality.
