The Killers soundtracked England’s win against the Netherlands in the Euro 2024 semifinal with “Mr. Brightside.”
On Wednesday, while performing at O2 Arena in London, the band paused their show to display the final moments of England’s 2 to 1 triumph on the big screen (allowing the team to advance to play Spain in Sunday’s final). Soon after the final whistle, white and red confetti shot into the sky and the Killers immediately celebrated the occasion by launching into “Mr. Brightside” — the hit 2000s track has enjoyed the longest run on the U.

Christina Applegate’s comment earlier this month that she doesn’t enjoy living anymore following her Ms diagnosis caused concern among many for the Dead to Me star.
In the June 4 episode of her MeSsy podcast with fellow Ms survivor Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Applegate candidly told listeners, “A real, fuck-it-all depression — like, a real depression, where it’s kind of scaring me too a little bit because it feels really fatalistic, it feels really ‘end of,’” Applegate said on MeSsy. “I don’t mean that, but I’m trapped in this darkness right now that I haven’t felt in probably 20-something years.”
She continued, “I don’t enjoy living. I don’t enjoy it. I don’t enjoy things anymore.”
The Married with Children alum addressed the comments in her latest episode of MeSsy.

Doubts About the Show’s Success
Katey Sagal, Ed O’Neill, and Christina Applegate openly admitted to harboring doubts about the show’s potential success when they first signed on.
However, despite their reservations, they were won over by the humor and wit of the pilot script, which ultimately convinced them to participate in the project.

In an emotional and honest interview with ABC News, Christina Applegate and Jamie-Lynn Sigler open up about living with multiple sclerosis, with the former star of Netflix’s Dead to Me revealing she has likely had the chronic central nervous system disease for six or seven years before she was diagnosed.
Applegate, 52, and Sigler, 42, spoke with Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts about their Ms diagnoses and living with the incurable disease in a segment that aired Wednesday morning. Applegate initially decided to get checked for Ms when she noticed her toes tingling while filming the Netflix series’ final season and was diagnosed in 2021. Christina Applegate revealed she was likely living with multiple sclerosis for years before she was diagnosed in a new interview with Good Morning America. The segment marked the actress’ first time talking about the autoimmune disease on TV since she was diagnosed in 2021.
“I probably had it for six or seven years, I think,” Applegate said. “I noticed, especially the first season [of the Netflix series Dead to Me], we’d be shooting, and my leg would buckle. I really just put it off as being tired, or I’m dehydrated, or it’s the weather.

Christina Applegate is opening up about living with multiple sclerosis on “Good Morning America” in her first on-camera sit-down interview following her 2021 diagnosis.
“I live kind of in hell,” Applegate told host Robin Roberts. “I’m not out a lot, so this is a little difficult, just for my system. But of course, the support is wonderful and I’m really grateful.”
Applegate participated in the interview — which aired in full on Wednesday — alongside “The Sopranos” star Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who has been living with Ms since she was 20 years old. The two were promoting their new podcast, “MeSsy,” which debuts March 19.
“I’m never going to wake up and go, ‘This is awesome.’ I’m just going to tell you that. Like, it’s not going to happen,” she continued. “I wake up and I’m reminded of it every day … But I might get to a place where I function a little bit better.

A New Year means lots of removals from Netflix and January 1st is looking busy, with over 100 movies set to leave the service already. Below, we’ll be keeping track of all the Netflix departures for the first month of 2024.
First, a few housekeeping notes as to how Netflix removals work before we dive in. Due to licensing agreements, shows and movies added to Netflix aren’t added forever. Instead, they’re essentially rented for a fixed period. All the shows below have their current window on Netflix ending and will likely be bound for a rival streaming service.
We list titles slightly differently from other outlets, with our listings being the actual day of removal. If you want to watch any titles scheduled to expire on January 1st, for example, you’ll need to watch by the end of December 31st.

Bird Box: Barcelona, the NFL docuseries Quarterback, the third season of Sweet Magnolias and Jamie Foxx starrer They Cloned Tyrone are among the new projects debuting on Netflix in July

Christina Applegate was very intentional about who stood at the podium last November when she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Who’s ready to party?
Parker Posey’s beloved 1995 coming-of-age comedy “Party Girl” celebrates a 4K restoration with a national tour to mark the 28th anniversary of the film. “Party Girl” kicks off in New York City at the IFC Center on April 28, followed by a live Q&a with lead star Posey. The film simultaneously debuts in Los Angeles at Glendale Laemmle Theatre and Landmark Westwood Theatre also on April 28, with a live Q&a with film director Daisy von Scherler Mayer.
In the classic film, a 20-something, irresponsible party girl is bailed out of jail by her librarian godmother. To repay the loan, she starts working at the library and gradually turns her life around.
“We made this movie for ‘the kids’ — as we called them — young people from small towns, who had big dreams, and who weren’t, for whatever reason, conforming to the status quo,” Posey shared with IndieWire.

“It was a beautiful thing to join, and I loved it so much, and I was crushed to leave, but it was important to take care of myself,” Blair said of her mid-season exit. “I have more going on, you know, I’m not a professional dancer, my career doesn’t hinge on that. I had to take care of my bones and I have Arthur, but you know, it was so beautiful to be applauded and still say, ‘It’s okay to bow out.'”

Christina Applegate was a major “It girl” of the late 80s and 90s, having broken through as the ditzy but sultry Kelly Bundy on Married with Children, which aired on the then-young network Fox. Applegate would eventually find a career in film in comedies like The Sweetest Thing, Bad Moms, and of course, the Anchorman movies. Applegate sits down with Variety to discuss the final season of her show, Dead to Me, as well as the struggles with continuing her career after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021.
The actress was asked about her experience working in the popular Anchorman films alongside Will Ferrell, and she had this to say,
Veronica Corningstone was an experience that gave me the confidence to improv, because I had never done that before. And that was so frightening. These guys — let me preface this by saying, the best men I’ve ever known. The most respectful,...

Alright everyone, we’ve got all the spookies of October out of our system. Time to turn our eye to Hulu’s list of new releases for November 2022 to celebrate a new fall tradition of…hunky male dancers?
That’s right, Hulu’s biggest original title for November 2022 is Welcome to Chippendales on Nov. 22. This limited series stars Kumail Nanjiani (Eternals) as Somen “Steve” Banerjee, the real life founder of the original Chippendales club of exotic male dancers. After hits like The Dropout and Pam & Tommy, Hulu likely has high hopes for this one.
The other big original series of note this month is FX’s Fleishman is in Trouble on Nov. 17. This is based on a 2019 novel of the same name and stars Jesse Eisenberg as the titular Toby Fleischman in crisis. Before that, Hulu is teaming up with ABC for some true crime docuseries like Where is Private Dulaney?...

As summer must eventually come to an end, so must these titles’ time on Netflix.
With Halloween right around the corner, the streaming service will remove all eight seasons of “The Vampire Diaries,” as well as several thriller and horror films including “Nightcrawler,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” “Seven” and “Insidious” so be sure to watch these spooky season classics before the end of the month.
The streaming service will no longer be the home for cherished TV series, including “Quantico,” “Saved by the Bell,” “Gotham” and “Dark Matter.” Netflix will also scrap classic titles, like “Catch Me If You Can,” “Mean Girls,” “Taxi Driver,” “Dirty Harry” and “Dumb and Dumber.”

Girls just want to have fun—and sometimes that means having sex with a man in a purple elephant costume. Before movies like Bridesmaids and Girls Trip proved that women breaking bad could lead to box office gold, Cameron Diaz, Christina Applegate and Selma Blair came together for 2002's The Sweetest Thing. Though it starred Hollywood's golden girl, this wasn't your grandparents' rom-com, rather it was a raunchy romp featuring a glory hole and a musical number about penises written by South Park veteran Nancy Pimental. Think Nancy Meyers gone wild. Diaz and Applegate starred as best friends who embark on a wild road trip after Christina (Diaz) meets her...

Actress Selma Blair could have retreated to a private place when she was diagnosed in 2018 with Multiple Sclerosis, the progressive and often disabling disease of the central nervous system. Instead, she’s been remarkably candid on social media about her challenges, posting regular updates to her 2.5 million Instagram followers.
She takes her openness to new levels of intimacy in the documentary Introducing, Selma Blair, directed by Rachel Fleit, debuting in theaters October 15 and on the discovery+ streaming platform October 21. Her intense physical symptoms, shifting emotions, facing the possibility of death to undergo a stem cell transplant to treat her worsening condition—it’s all there in the film.
“I was incredibly open to it,” Blair said at the discovery+ TCA presentation Monday, speaking of the idea of doing a documentary on her Ms battle. “But it wasn’t until we found Rachel, really, that that was a serious thing. And then I was all in.

U2 had a lot to prove when they started work on 2000’s All That You Can’t Leave Behind. The electronic experimentation of 1997’s Pop turned off many longtime fans, and the album failed to generate any genuine hits. The PopMart stadium tour may have been a technical triumph, but there were huge sections of unsold tickets in several North American markets and many critics couldn’t resist labeling the whole affair “FlopMart.”

If you’ve been wondering where Cameron Diaz has been lately, the likely answer is on her porch, listening to jazz and drinking rosé. Its an apt image for a new retiree, which is essentially what Diaz has been since she nonchalantly announced her “retirement” from acting in a 2018 interview with her The Sweetest Thing co-stars Christina Applegate and Selma Blair (Diaz cited “retirement” as a reason why the rom-com likely wouldn’t get a sequel).

Christina Applegate's name has been in the news recently thanks to her incredible performance in the new Netflix series Dead to Me. While she more than deserves this massive shine, I think it's worth reminding everyone that Ms. Applegate is not new to this - in fact, the 47-year-old actress has been in the game since she was literally in diapers, having starred in a Playtex baby bottle commercial when she was only 5 months old.
Since then, she's racked up major TV and film credits - my personal favorites include Married With Children, The Sweetest Thing and Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead - and even appeared on stage in productions like The Axeman's Jazz and Sweet Charity, which earned her a Tony nomination in 2005. Let us also not forget the fact that she once ditched Brad Pitt halfway through a date. Iconic.

As announced by After author Anna Todd, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody star Dylan Sprouse is joining the pic’s original stars Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin, who are reprising their roles as Tessa and Hardin. Cameras roll this month.
In the sequel novel, Tessa and Hardin, despite starting a tumultuous relationship, get a bombshell revelation about the origins of their relationship—and Hardin’s mysterious past. Tessa’s not sure she can endure one more broken promise.
Kumble directed and wrote the cult Reese Witherspoon-Ryan Phillipe-Sarah Michelle Gellar-Selma Blair hit Cruel Intentions, as well as The Sweetest Thing starring Cameron Diaz, Christina Applegate and Blair, as well as Just Friends...

Anna Nicole Smith was once considered for the role of Jim Carrey’s love interest in The Mask.
The model, who died in 2007 at the age of 39, was considered by the film’s director Chuck Russell to star as Tina, the nightclub singer who catches the eye of Carrey’s Stanley in the 1994 film.
Russell, 61, told Variety that Smith didn’t get far in the casting process as he “would have had to read her for the part to get that far.”
“We met,” he said. “Anna was charming and bubbly, but did not have other qualities needed for the role.

Oh my god, you guys — Legally Blonde nearly starred Christina Applegate!
The 47-year-old actress opened up on Tuesday’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen about being sent the script to the 2001 comedy to play Elle Woods, the lead role made famous by Reese Witherspoon.
“The story’s been out there but I wasn’t actually offered it, the script came to me,” said Applegate. “But at that time, I had just gotten off of Married with Children and I felt like it was too close to what I had just been doing and I was very interested in removing myself from that.
