Sukeban Deka III TV Special
ebiros230 May 2011
This is a 72 minute TV special that was created during the running of Sukeban Deka series III, featuring the Kazama sisters.

Kazama sisters (Yui, Yuma, Yuka - Yui Asaka, Yuma Nakamura, and Yuka Onishi) while on a mission to stop Kage is met by Kikuko Tamon (Kazue Ito), a special agent working for Kurayami Shirei. They capture Yoshiya Kuromaru - a high school student who works for Kage, and through his confession, they discover that Doryuji temple is the hideout of Kage. The head nun of that temple Shurei-in is a 9 year old nun that matches Kage's leader Sho's description. This is the first big break they've had on finding out Sho's whereabouts. The sisters are assigned by Kurayami Shirei to investigate the temple, but they are also ordered to team with Kikuko on the assignment. Kikuko has one stipulation - that she will be the leader of the team. In a simulated combat obstacle course, Kikuko defeats Yui, and earns the right to be the team leader. The sisters who are now under her leadership heads out to the Doryuji temple, but Kage has a trap set up for them based on the ancient Chinese method of "Hachimon Tonkou" (The tactics of the eight gates). One by one Kazama sisters are injured by the trap, and it's now up to Yui and Kikuko to penetrate into the heart of the temple where Sho is supposedly hiding.

I just couldn't see the reason for Kikuko to be part of the story. She just takes away from keeping focus on the Kazama sisters. Rest is the same as the TV series where the sisters battle Kage to stop their evil acts, but the script is inferior even compared to that of the TV series, with one lame scene and poor acting after another by the bad guys.

Not recommended as this one is obviously a special made in haste, with production that lacks the quality of the original TV series.

A warning for those willing to watch Sukeban Deka III
TooKakkoiiforYou_32115 September 2023
Since on this site there is no mention of that one, I'm forced to write this down here. Remember the first Sukeban Deka movie? The one where the high-schoolers were turned into commandos performing ninja operations while they fought a toku villain? Well, apparently it turns out the third series (which subs are now available) was indeed that same thing, a series about friggin' ninja/commando girls with spiritual powers fighting some dark menace bla bla bla with nothing of school in it and all of ninjas and schwarznegger-type commandos (Predator anyone?), to the point that the iconic sailor suit now is simply a gang suit and nothing else. There's a reason why that series was not as popular as the preceeding Sukeban Deka iterations and why it became a lost piece of media for so much time, and the reason being...it just wasn't Sukeban Deka, except for the title that is. I guess I'll watch Sailor Suite Rebel Alliance with the subs provided by the same person (GEO9875 on twitter, in case you're interested) as the unofficial third Sukeban Deka Series, but my Sukeban Deka III journey ends after the incredible amount of three episodes and it won't continue. Now or never. Watch Sekai Ninja Sen Jiraya if you want something about Ninjas and forget the third Sukeban Series ever existed in the first place.
