This was the first of the Bujang Lapok trilogy made by P.Ramlee together with Aziz Satar and S.Samsudin. The humour is simple and easy to understand, if you watch close enough. Almost all of the cast members used their real names so you get the feeling that there is a real genuinity to this movie. This movie is set in a 'kampung' or village in 50's Singapore - great for those of us who didn't get to see the glorious era. There is comedy, romance, action (little) all well blended to give you a good film to watch with the entire family.
