THUNDER NINJA KIDS IN THE GOLDEN ADVENTURE is a typically madcap outing from Godfrey Ho and his IFD studio, as usual a cut and paste adventure in which Caucasion actors are inserted into scenes from an older film, this time a martial arts movie from South Korea. There is a kid involved who's involved in a lot of lame comedy and pratfalls as he battles adults. I did find the plot more linear and inspired by classic martial arts movies than usual, with plenty of low rent action sequences and cheesy behaviour. As usual, there's a lot of dumb comedy and bad dubbing to see you through. Weirdly, it seems posited as a kid's movie despite containing bad language and violence.

I'm a huge fan of Godfrey Ho films. I love how he would take older gangster films from the Phillipines, Thailand or Hong Kong, and mix it with his own footage he filmed with British actors playing Americans playing Ninjas. This later film from Godfrey Ho sticks to his style, but is definitely aimed towards a younger crowd. Lets say teenagers, or younger. It says "Thunder Ninja Kids" on the cover, but there are not many kids in this movie. There is 1 kid in the Ninja Kid trio. The humor in this movie is very simple. British style humor like Benny hill. Its cheeky and bad. Its hard to review movies like the ones that Godfrey Ho do, because they don't really have a plot, the acting is terrible, the effects are budget, the overdubs are absolutely bad. But these kind of things are what make Godfrey Ho films so entertaining to watch. You have to have a sense of humor to sit thru films like this. If you like Godfrey Ho films, you will enjoy this film as well.
