Rough sex instead of racing action
lor_25 March 2011
SUPERCHARGER is for fans of rough sex, as its car racing fails to materialize. Set in the world of Formula 1 as is its companion film GRAND PRIX/BURN RUBBER, picture starts with six minutes of stock footage in and around the race track, before reverting to an all-sex formula.

Replete with S.O.L.I. material of the young lovers rushing into each other's arms, Eve Orlon plays the main squeeze of a race driver, who has failed to qualify for the big race. A rival on the track is played by Adam Ward, with a third racer played by the actor who is Ward's rival in the followup film GRAND PRIX.

This guy is the villain in SUPERCHARGER, storming into his girl friend's home and brutally raping her in an interminable, tedious scene. He's bound her hands and it's strictly about rough sex, for the fans of that brutal genre. Unlike many films of this ilk, she not only resists him but is screaming and contorted in pain for the duration.

Post-rape she manages to escape and runs nude (with only a tiny towel) to seek refuge with a blonde pal (Nancy Martin). Nancy and another brunette gal pal console her, which means an instant lesbian threesome -it's porn, baby! When Ward returns home, the three girls get in the shower with him for a brief 4-way.

Meanwhile Eve and her boyfriend drive over and are greeted by the nude foursome at the door, cueing an orgy. The film's racing premise has been long forgotten.

Obviously the violent rape is the be-all and end-all of this nonsense. The followup movie GRAND PRIX at least has the pretense of being about racing, but with no budget it's all a tease, not a sex-tease but rather a sports-tease. The sex is there, in XXX fashion. Casting decision for the femmes is all-natural, with no big breasts in attendance.

Most annoying aspect of SUPERCHARGER is use of a kaleidoscopic lens technique, common to psychedelic-styled movies of the '60s. Throughout the film we suddenly have to watch either the track footage or a sex scene with 6 multiple images, which revolve around (usually counter-clockwise) for maximum distortion. It merely renders a clunker (to start with) unwatchable.
