adaptation of Vasile Alecsandri classic play, it has two fundamental pillars. first - Mircea Dragan , the director, who creates not exactly the expected film about Chirita but opens a necessary window in the darkness of Comunist Romania. the second, the cast and, especially, Draga Olteanu Matei in the lead role. a seductive film in which music and humor, the oasis status in middle of propaganda , the nice events and the meeting with the spirit of play are great virtues. sure, it is not the best adaptation but it is not a sin. it could be an useful tool for understand the manner to create a different movie in a special atmosphere. and to define the entertainment in Ceausescu's Romania. decent , almost childish, it is one of films who defines a period. that is its purpose. and the key for discover it.
