Interesting but Miscast Movie
WSRBFan13 March 2004
Rachel Blakely is a lovely and talented actress and I can understand her wanting to stretch, doing more than glamour roles, but her casting in this movie was a mistake. For one thing, I found it incredibly difficult to believe this woman would fall for someone like the scum-manipulator-prisoner in this film. Perhaps it's because Blakely tends to act in roles that have her empowered and this role just made her seem like a silly, weak woman that decides to do something really stupid like have an affair with a jailbird then break him out of prison. If Blakely was remotely unbeautiful it might have worked, she's that good an actress, but she's just too lovely and confident and the man she's supposedly fallen for in this movie is as transparent as Scotch Tape.

After all, it's not like her lover is ... William Snow, who stars with Blakely in THE LOST WORLD. Now, there's a man I can see her character getting excited about.

All in all, ONE WAY TICKET is an interesting movie but needed different actors. Or, at least, actors that have chemistry.

Absorbing

A very well made Australian drama based upon a factual story. Excellent characterisation by a skilful cast who normally only turn up in Aussie soaps. Also a great laugh listening to the strange way Australians sometimes speak eg calling prison offices "Miss"... Well worth the watch.

some what true to life
loza-624 March 2006
I have seen the movie and thought that it was really good, some of the facts in the show were not quite right but all in all they were that close to the truth. What really happened out there in the bush who really killed Archie we will never know. Why do I ask this question you ask, well I was at the time engaged to P. Gibb and this whole thing turned lots of lives around. And I do believe that poor H. Parker must sit back and wonder what the hell she got her self into. I do feel sorry for her and there 2 children, but she has stuck by the man for a very long time and I take my hat off to her not many would have. I had to laugh at Peter Phelps, as Peter Gibb is a very tall and was very proud of his slim waste line and Phelps is quite stocky and some of the movements that he made were so funny that we sat and laugh at them.

Great !

Warning: Spoilers
Spoiler Alert Wonderful movie that is based on a true story that took place 1993 in Melbourne , Australia. Mick Webb is in prison, accusted of murdering, and it doesn´t look as if he will be able to leave the prison very soon. He and his friend Freeman make a plan and want to escape . For that Webb tries to get the beautiful police officer Deborah Carter on his side. Because she´s unhappy with her own life it doesn´t take long and she is in love with him. They have an affair till Webb asks her to get out of the prison. Of course she doesn´t like the idea. But as everybody gets out that she has an affair with him and her husband takes her children away, she has enough and starts to plan the escape of Webb and Freeman. Everything works fine and both can escape. For a moment it seems as if Deborah regrets what she has done but she´s still in love with Webb and the three of them escape. While they try to escape the police Webb also realizes it´s love and he tells Deborah that he first used her in prison. She says she knew it and that maybe she used him too to escape her own life. Now both realize it´s love and they don´t want to get into prison again. Will they make it ?

Truly sad love story that makes you think how much you would do for the person you love.

The actors are quite good , especially the beautiful Rachel Blakely, who is also known as Marguerite Krux in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle´s The Lost World. It doesn´t take long to be a Fan of her. She is a talented actress and I hope she´ll be seen in other movies too.

My advice : Watch the movie ! The Australian accent is a lot of fun too !
