Hey all! John Fallon here aka The Arrow. Our docu-series, Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian: 80’s Horror Memories (binge it here), which thoroughly explores the decade in horror, is now 15 episodes in. We just wrapped 1980, 1981 and 1982 and we are about to go in balls deep into 1983 this coming Monday, August 28 on our JoBlo Horror Originals YouTube channel.
A series of this ilk doesn’t happen by itself, it takes an army of producers, writers, editors and our sole narrator to make the magic happens. So we thought it would be dandy to get our core staff to share with you their 10 favorite (not best) horror movies from the 80’s. Yes, it was tough on all of us to pick just 10 – but we knocked a few back and did what we could. Scroll down and peep our choices!

Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 Total Recall (f*ck that remake btw) remains an iconic and enduring classic in the realm of action and sci-fi. Add the overly aggressive blood squibs, imaginative production design, top-notch action, Verhoeven’s signature satirical flair, and you have yourself an absolute classic. Today Lance and The Arrow discuss one of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s best film! Peak Schwarzenegger baby!
Total Recall stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rachel Ticotin, Sharon Stone, Ronny Cox and Michael Ironside and is about:
When a man goes in to have virtual vacation memories of the planet Mars implanted in his mind, an unexpected and harrowing series of events forces him to go to the planet for real – or is he?

On today’s The Arrow In The Head Show, Lance Vlcek and John “The Arrow” Fallon take on the little seen yet highly entertaining Raw Deal (1986) starring the inimitable Arnold Schwarzenegger at his smug best. After Conan, The Terminator, Red Sonja and Commando – Arnie took on a very different kind of role at this point in his career and showcased glimpses of the charm and gravitas that he would eventually fully display in films like True Lies and Kindergarden Cop.
The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kathryn Harrold, Robert Davi and Paul Shenar and is about:
A former FBI agent turned small-town sheriff agrees to help the FBI chief infiltrate the Chicago mafia when the FBI chief’s son is killed by them.

The Mission Impossible Franchise (Watch Or OWN Here) has sustained its popularity over the years due to the fantastic combination of action, charm, and good old-fashioned spectacle. The untimely passing of actor Ray Stevenson has shocked us all. I personally fell in love with the actor when I first saw him as Titus Pullo in the excellent series Rome. Directed by Lexi Alexander, the film is about: Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, turns the streets of New York City red as he wages a one man war against the crime syndicate responsible for the death of his wife and two kids. In the sixteen years since The CW launched as a broadcast channel, it has become known for its teen dramas like Riverdale, The Vampire Diaries, and One Tree Hill as well as being the home of the DC Comics Arrow-verse. For years, this channel has created dozens of original shows that not only paved the way for small screen superhero entertainment, but also cultivated diverse talent and voices. However, thanks to the network’s new owners Nexstar Media Group, this is all about to change.
Many of The CW’s original series like The Flash, Riverdale, and Nancy Drew are airing their final seasons this year while others like The Winchesters, Walker: Independence, and Kung Fu have already been canceled as the channel tries to shift its audience age demographic from 18-34 to the more traditional 18-49. Sylvester Stallone has had a few franchises over the years – Rocky, Rambo, The Expendables – but he also has a film that should have been a franchise starter, but never received any of the sequels it deserved. The Arrow in the Head Show hosts John “The Arrow” Fallon and Lance Vlcek are clearly two guys who are after my own heart. I say this because Friday the 13th is my favorite franchise, so I find that I can never go too long without watching a Friday the 13th movie. The Arrow and Lance seem to be right there with me, because they talk about Friday the 13th movies with some frequency – and in the latest episode of The Arrow in the Head Show, they’re taking a deep dive into the 1989 sequel Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (watch it Here)! To find out what they had to say about Jason Takes Manhattan, check out the video embedded above.
Written and directed by Rob Hedden, Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan has the following synopsis: Mass murderer Jason Voorhees is resurrected from the bottom of Crystal Lake.

This guy has spent so much of his life being other people, realistic and supernatural, for the American showbiz not to know him. However, it seems that it takes more than just good acting skills to enjoy the kind of success that The Arrow actor enjoys. He is a product of the people he studied with, his passion for music and drama, his larger-than-life personality and

The CW has released another new trailer for Arrow Season 7 and as you’ll see, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) will be doing a lot of brawling in Super Max prison. At the same time, there’s a vigilante impersonating Green Arrow who is going around delivering justice and Star City is trying to figure out who it is.
I have no idea what to expect from Season 7 but so far I like what I’m seeing! One thing that we know is that the creative team are looking to push the limits. Arrow director James Bamford previously explained:
"Beth [Schwartz, Arrow showrunner] and I had a phone call with Bnsp, which is our censors... a very lengthy phone call about a particular scene that we never had before. So, we are really trying to push the limits on the show in the gritty factor. We are trying to go as far...

This popped up on Reddit today and thank God it did because it confirms my suspicions that Dan Aykroyd is a "creeper."
Redditor Cloutsman seems like a really awesome Canadian dude and decided to regale internet readers with a story that took place back in 2001 at a strip club. You see, there are rumors that Aykroyd hangs out in Kingston, Ontario going to college bars and trying to pick up star-f*cking co-eds. He also has a bodyguard posse, which seems a little over zealous considering the star.
Anyway, Cloutsman and his buddies were drunk one night and ready to meet Dan Aykroyd. The kids followed him into a strip club and that's when things get interesting.
"So, we're sitting in a strip club watching Dan Aykroyd, and he has a drink, but he keeps moving seats. His crew stays at the one table, but Dan is bouncing all over the place.

Michael Moriarty, who starred in such classic films as Who’ll Stop the Rain and Pale Rider, exiled himself to Canada in 1995, following a nasty confrontation with U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno in a Washington, D.C. hotel room. Moriarty was invited along with network television executives and producers to hear Reno’s views on censorship of TV violence. Law and Order, one of the least violent shows on television, was cited as a major offender. Incensed by Reno's campaign to “forcibly end violence on television and trample on rights of free expression as guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution,” Moriarty quit the series and left the U.S. in protest. He has been a landed immigrant in Canada ever since. Why the fateful encounter with Reno led to a radical (and seemingly overnight) transformation of Moriarty’s...
