Warning: Spoilers
1991 Imax, 35 minutes.

Not to be confused with the 2009 50-minute, National Geographic Channel movie of the same name, which is about the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument of the northwest archipelago.

This Imax movie shows us lava, reef fish, and rare cliffside plants.

It's both less visually stunning and less-informative than you'd expect.

If you want a great nature show about Pacific islands, see Wild Pacific, narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1458521/

I have just returned from Hawaii, I travelled to Oahu, met with the locals, and attempted to learn the history of the Polynesian people, they are a gentle beautiful intelligent people. Watching this film named Hidden Hawaii was wonderful, to learn about how the islands evolved, the scenery, the nature, and what people are prepared to do to maintain this lush beauty is quite amazing.

I was stunned by the photography, it encapsulated the sheer beauty, and to see that park rangers preserve the wild hogs, and make sure that future generations will be able to benefit by the preservation of plants and animals is truly awesome.

I will go back to Hawaii, probably another area, and will through seeing this amazing film, look upon the beauty with fresh insight, thanks for such a wonderful showing.

Chrissie, a traveller, and open to learning.
