Sex & Nudity

  • Nothing overt, but various sexual dynamics and relationships are portrayed barely below the surface, including lesbian themes.
  • Female protagonist at times is referred to as "tramp" because she had other sexual relationships after she broke up with her fiance.

Violence & Gore

  • Near the end, a character fires a revolver at a man who's not in the picture. When the camera cuts to the man, he has a red bullet wound in his forehead. Although the SFX aren't detailed, it's graphic violence by the standards of 1954.
  • Several people are shot to death, including one woman.
  • A man is lynched offscreen.
  • A saloon brawl.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Much of the film takes place in a saloon, so naturally there is drinking.
