Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • Guests are killed, but not a single one-except the final one shows the death explicitly.
  • First: A man is poisoned by his drink.
  • Second: A woman dies from an overdose of sleeping pills.
  • Third: A man is stabbed with a curved knife (no blood).
  • Fourth: A man's cranium is split with an axe.
  • Fifth: A woman is killed by a hypodermic needle injection.
  • Sixth: A man is shot through the head (we later find out this was not so).
  • Seventh: A man dies a mysterious death from the sea (take note this is revealed after the eighth death).
  • Eighth: A man is killed by a chunk of the house falling on top of him.
  • A man dies by drinking poison.

Profanity

  • The word "devil", as in "what the devil", presumably used in place of "what the hell", which would not have been allowed by censors of the time.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Drugs, recreational: None
  • Occasional and casual smoking and drinking. The butler at one point drinks a little too much. "Nikki" is completely drunk when he sings the song at the piano.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The setting is full of subtle duplicity and darkness.
