Catharsis is the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions. This is usually done through art forms such as tragedy, drama, dance and music. The AIDS Epidemic started in the Late 70's and 80's spreading through the United states leaving a trail of death, confusion, and fear while communities watched it all happen on the news.
