Pleasantly surprised

I knew nothing about this film coming in. I've just been recording anything with Doris Day, so I began watching her films, oldest first. The Winning Team is not a film I'd heard of, so when I saw it was based on the life of a real baseball player, and Ronald Reagan was starring opposite Doris Day? Well, that's reason enough to watch this gem.

I loved this movie. I don't have a reason to compare or judge this against anything, because I don't know Grover's true life story, nor did I live that era. But I love baseball, I love Doris Day, and I thought her and Ronald made a great couple. I liked their chemistry.

I mainly wrote this short review for myself, in case I'm ever afforded the opportunity to see this again and have forgotten what I thought about it. I will surely watch this again. In fact, I'm not going to delete it from my DVR. I'll recommend it to others and watch it with them.
