Hope Frozen (2019)
5/10
Very controversial and not that good...

Warning: Spoilers
Documentary Is very controversial and a bit forced in some points. And there's a true feeling that the family dynamics are not going right. They all talk about the kid's sad fact in a very plain / almost too calm tone most of the time. The dad saying that eventually his wife convinced to freeze the baby "Because I decided It" was the first Red flag... And then it's obvious that many decisions of his son are forced by those circumstances. Why was he there while the sister got Frozen? He Remembered such traumatazing details!

Then, the spiritual part where he goes to the monks and spirituality and intimacy would be so high... But with the camera stuck to his face. Don't think a real monastery would allow It.

And of course there's also the subtecxt of how America has the greatest scientists after all: Matrix goes there to ask questions his dad wants... and, anyways , those in charge, scientifically speaking, talk about "Life without deseases" , "we won't have the issue of getting old" and "time travels" and defrosting people all in once, with no details and in a superficial way. It's like mixing facts with science-fiction, not convincing.

Some edits are problematic: only half way we get to know only her head was saved and frozen. And after talking to one person, the family gets scared of her being back to life with no memories while most of 2-year-olds don't carry long term memory anyways... And the final part of the film Is all about it. I think the whole film Is not deepened in the important points and it's too focused on the dad with a few opinions of the mother and few footage of the child. Even in the crio lab. With her crying, and filmmakers not giving her any voice but catching him almost smiling and saying "I feel I am here as a scientist" few mins before.

When It ends up with them having another baby girl, called by the same name, dressed with the same dress but saying "she's not substituting her sister" soon after saying "Our family Is not ok" I was not surprised. They were extremely unlucky and their loss Is terribile but the documentary does not help at all.
