It must have been quite daunting for her, but Caroline Rhea does a wonderful job filling the very large shoes of the late, great Doris Roberts as Mrs Merkle aka Mrs Miracle in a Hallmark movie that deals with a lot of heavy topics these sorts of movies usually don't touch with the proverbial ten-foot pole: loss and grief at Christmas in various ways. No festivals or bake-offs or meet cutes here, either,
The acting from Rhea, Kaitlan Doubleday, Steve Lund and Paula Shaw is well above average and the script, with good source material from Debbie Macomber, makes this one of the strongest Hallmark movies the channel has ever put out.
