Yeeha! Country week at the Montecito - the cowboys and cowgirls are in town. A good episode, featuring superstar country duo Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn (Brooks & Dunn and an appearance by Alec Baldwin, playing Jack Keller, an old CIA colleague of Ed's, who is now working for Mr Brunson and in charge of installing a new and improved security system for the Montecito.
But this episode might be most notable for seemingly hinting at a relationship between Danny and Sam. The final scenes of the episode - where Brooks and Dunn are playing a soft ballad on acoustic guitar and harmonica in the lounge - where Mary sees Danny and Sam go off together somewhere private are heartbreaking. Clearly, she is in love with Danny still, and it wasn't as though Mary hadn't had a tough enough run this episode before that.
(I'll always maintain that Danny and Mary should've ended up together. Cliched? Yeah, sure. But also fitting. Alas...)
