"Our Wills and Fates Do So Contrary Run"
27 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Quite an episode to end the first season run of The Royals.

The palace intrigue was ratcheted all the way up in this episode, with shifting alliances, double- and triple-crossing the aim of the game. Queen Helena and Cyrus are right in the middle of it. There were some absolute jaw-droppers throughout. If nothing else, the writers are eminently capable of throwing in plot twists that no one saw coming. The Royals is nothing if not dramatic.

It looks like the end for Liam and Ophelia. Writers took so long to get them together, only to (seemingly) end after a few more episodes. A little wasted effort there.

The season started the way it ended: with the death of a beloved royal. King Simon is dead, Cyrus is on the throne, Liam and Eleanor are illegitimate, there seems to be some secret group in the shadows...and season two promises to be very interesting.
