Salomè by Carmelo Bene is a very deeply rooted movie in that LSD kind of way of the late 60s and 70s - a colorful explosion so to say. So what's mostly interesting are the visuals provided, but, at least for me, after some time it gets too much and here and there too repetitive. Despite the short running time (73 minutes) I watched the first half on one day and the rest the other. The visual style and composition is really interesting and a fine experience, sadly, we get too much of cam time with the sole focus on Herod (Carmelo Bene), which, despite his fine expressive acting, gets somewhat tiresome. Anyway, if you are on the hunt for collecting cinematic oddities and are interested in biblical themes, this one you may try.
