A perfect blend of music, freedom loving spontaneity, passion and a lust for life that has both beauty and tragedy, particularly when passion runs out of control. It illustrates the highs and lows of human existence and perhaps how life is ultimately bittersweet when played out in a purely emotional realm.
It has magic, romance and heartbreak, and the characters live life to the fullest even if they are ultimately deluded. Having said that, the takeaway is one of joy and enthusiasm for a simpler, more natural life - the film communicates this feeling, despite the flaws of the characters and we can extrapolate this feeling regardless.
Also, the acting, script and cinematography are all excellent.
