I''m trying to slog my way through this, and I came here to say the same thing. The woman would have GSR (gun shot residue) on her. The police would immediately check for that. It's bs like this that ruins these flicks for me. I'm figuring it is her attorney that set her up, halfway through so far.
Kate Jackson seems to play the same character over and over again. It gets exhausting.

Uggh, guess again. This flick was completely nonsensical. She's a convicted murderer who is now on the lam and nothing in the plot made any sense. She knows a cop is looking for her so goes in public every chance she can, and walks around wearing a fedora, dark glasses and a trench coat, as if that isn't conspicuous as hell. She should have just worn a Groucho Marx get up with a mustache and fake nose while she's at it. Lol.
