There is absolutely no chemistry between the alleged lovers.
The father daughter relationship is great and the little girl is wonderful, but the romance does not work at all. It felt like the longest part of the movie was these two and the writers trying to convince us that there are sparks between them. I felt it was written that way to try to make up for the lack of chemistry between these two.
The funniest part of the movie is right after the touching interchange between her and the three young girls, and then she looks over there and sees her rejected lover trying to be sad. I openly laughed when they showed this guy over there. It's like she didn't notice him when she first came in?
If this movie comes on, go do something else until Lacey Chabert comes back on.
