Here old school magic meets the modern world in this epic adventure that gets lots of bombastic special effects adding supernatural apparitions, witches , wizards , legendary heroes and numerous images have you on the edge of your seat. As appears the heroes of Arthurian tales such as : Arthur , Merlin , Morgana and mytical locations as Glastonbury and Tintagel . Riveting set pieces illuminate the full-blown adventures blending witchcraft, dragons , necromancy and it turns out to be extremely amusing. Stimulating adventures of the charming protagonists are complemented by a breathtaking final attraction in the impressive scenes with incredible appearance of overwhelming ominous weird monsters . This attractive film has great action scenes and impressive set pieces , but being extremely unrealist and very enjoyable . It follows more the kiddies adventure genre than the traditional story about Arthur his court of Camelot and the rounded table , as the legendary character is very freely treated , adding imagination , necromancy , fantasy with state-of-art special effects . Resulting to be a really revisionist adaptation on vintage legends , about some peculiar roles , history and period when is set the action , that's why several viewers disapproved the changes of King Arthur's ordinary canon. Main starring Louis Ashbourne Serkis gives an acceptable acting as the valient , brave kid , while the likeable Angus Imrie steals the show playing the weird sorcerer with extraordinary powers . They are well accompanied by a good cast , such as : Patrick Stewart , Rebecca Ferguson, Genevieve O'Reilly, Denise Gough , among others .

Sensational production design , accompanied by a glamorous cinematography by cameraman Bill Pope filmed on location in Tintagel, Cornwall, Devon, England, Davidstow airfield, Devon, England, Stevens Point, Wisconsin, USA, Putney Academy . Emotive soundtrack appropriately adequate to fantasy . The picture is brilliantly directed by Joe Cornish . His feature film debut was Attack the Block (2011) and the bulk of this film was shot in 67 days , having to remove fifteen pages of the script prior to the shooting of the film because of budgetary constraints and he did in depth research on language to accurately convey the way South London street kids speak . Joe grew up and lives in South London, where this film is set and he's usually screenwriter , as he wrote the ¨Adventures of Tintin : The secret of unicorn¨ , ¨Adam and Joe¨ and ¨Ant Man¨. Rating: Better than average . Essential and indispensable watching for fantastic cinema lovers.
