A bit awkward at times. Dennis Quaid is definitely more unnerving in this than many villains seens in movies before. The first 3/4 were getting more and more suspense. The last quarter was more horror.
A few things made it harder to get into it. A woman liking a creepy guy more than a guy is less believable. The insanity of the guy was well rendered at first but in the last portion, it was over the top and moved the film into plain horror territory.
Spoiler alert, the idea that the guy lives in the house all along makes a lot of sense but was done already many times.
Overall, it was very decent chills until the horror started. Not too bad horror but less credible.
