Acting Is Good but that's all

Warning: Spoilers
Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain did a wonderful job in characters as always, good acting is always touching, not to mention that this is based on a real story, but in this movie all those efforts doesn't seem to function as expected.

One word for the movie is just Flat, the rhythm of the story is really hard for me to empathize with. Even though the real nurse Charlie never said anything about the purpose, in the movie there should at least be some reasonable representation for that. At the end of the movie, Charlie's sudden decision to confess is really unnatural, and if Amy is special to him, then maybe there should be some scenes showing special feeling ahead. I didn't see any, I even thought he is gonna do something bad towards Amy's family.

Another thing is I think it would be better to show the cruel part of Charlie as well, maybe some quick clip of all his confirmed victims, some scenes of him torturing his ex-wife of maybe just a scene he injected insulin into the infusion bag. I am not sure but maybe this contrast of tenderness and cruelty of the same person may add a little expressiveness to the film.

It's not a bad movie, but with the cast and the story, I expected better.
