Genuinely Funny and Heartwarming

Warning: Spoilers
After a slow start, this film wins you over with its depiction of love and friendship that's been neglected but not lost. It features some very good performances by actors that are not as well well known but should be appreciated. It's also surprisingly hip in its humor, referencing Cypress Hill among others.

There also a seems to be a kind of metaphorical undercurrent, considering the main character is someone who left Northern Ireland as perhaps many other did but feels, by the end of the film that he wants to return. From this perspective, the father who wronged the protagonist and his brother could represent Northern Ireland's troubled past.

Whether this metaphorical level is fully intended or not, the chemistry between the actors is unmistakable and the film very enjoyable overall.
