I think they couldn't get Simone Missick of All Rise! A powerful figure of a female judge would be a powerful woman anywhere.

The viewer thinks of Miss Missick through-out the entire movie though she is not hired in it, psychologically she's in it. It can stunt the capabilities of the other actresses to perform their jobs well...they pull it off anywhere!
