Directed by Vikram Bhatt, which itself is a surprise for me cuz this dude normally makes horror romance films these days, DHP has a good amount of comedy fun and humor to keep the party going .
It has a unique style of narration by Vivek Oberoi which I feel films these days are missing . The Hera Pheri trio of Akshay, Paresh and Suniel are present and yes they do have some Hera pheri with their characters. Shahid felt like a side actor in this film.
Also, according to Wikipedia, this is the standalone sequel to Aawara pagal deewana. Don't know why or how. Neither there is any resemblance in the stories or characters just that the words deewana and pagal have been used in DHP. If one doesn't read Wikipedia, they would never know it is a sequel. Could have simply named it Awara pagal deewana 2 just like we have Hungama 2 even though the everything is different from Hungama.
