There may be an interesting story to be told considering the source material, but the anime is not really great. The characters constantly have to tell the audience what they are feeling (this is a shortcoming of many animes tbh), be it spoken word or "inner" monolog. There are lots of exaggerated dumb noises and dumb looks on peoples faces to telegraph that they are surprised. Thorfinn's constant whining gets annoying. Thorkell is portrayed as a complete moron. Sublety at its best. Becomes boring pretty quickly.
