Pumpkin (2002)
7/10
Good premise but felt unrealistic at times

Pumpkin (2002) is a movie I recently watched for the first time in a long time on Tubi. The storyline follows a sorority house who volunteers to help some special needs individuals. One of the sorority girls feels a special bond with one of the young men in the group and tries to help him live a more normal life. She doesn't realize her actions towards the special needs gentlemen is ruining the life she's worked so hard to build.

This movie is codirected by Anthony Abrams and Adam Larson Broder who worked together on Spivak, and stars Christina Ricci (Black Snake Moan), Hank Harris (Mercury Rising), Dominique Swain (Face/Off), Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids) and Brenda Blethyn (Pride & Prejudice).

Christina Ricci was absolutely gorgeous in this, as always. The characters and circumstances are very unique and unpredictable. The storyline had a good premise and potential but wasn't as perfectly executed as I hoped. A lot of scenes towards the end felt forced and unrealistic. The story was nice overall even if the end was a bit much. I would score this a 6.5-7/10 and strongly recommend it.
