Everthing a fan of the show could want
18 May 2022
This was how Bebop should have gone out. The finale of the show was incredible, but I think it suits this show better to go out on a happier note. But instead, we got the terrible Netflix remake. But the less said about that, the better. Anyway, the animation is noticably smoother than in the show, which isn't a huge plus for me, but it was nice to see. The score is still fantastic, just like in the show. The villain is well written, and all of the action is great, I especially love the scene where Spike escapes the medical facility. The only real issue with this movie is that it likely can't stand on its own. It's kind of like the film "Serenity" in that regard, where the movie won't stick with you unless you've seen the end of the show. But aside from that, it's a perfect film for Bebop fans. Unlike many other movies connected to anime series, this one is very good. The My Hero Academia Movies, for example, kind of just toss the characters into a new setting, think of some reason for the other heroes to not be able to reach them, and bring in a clone of the series's main villain, and don't really allow any of the characters to develop in any meaningful way. In this film, Vincent shares a lot of similarities to Vicious, but is a unique character. And the main cast is able to better set up their later developements, as the movie takes place during the course of the show. It's a great film and it's definitely worth a watch if you're a fan of the anime. And if you like the My Hero movies, I respect your opinion, but I think they are pretty lame.
